About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Supporting the Scripps College Academy , the Head Residential Coordinator will create a safe environment in the residence hall for program participants in collaboration with other staff and the administration for the summer conference. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position. Reports to Program Coordinator. Supervises student participants within the residential hall, including the maintenance of curfew hours and lights-out policy in the residence hall. Assists in disciplinary actions that arise inside or outside the residential hall and enforce program rules and regulations. Documents in writing, any incidents occurring within the residence hall. Lives in residence hall with student participants for program’s duration. Assists in the supervision of all student participants within the residential hall. Collaborates closely with faculty to plan the academic program. Assists with group projects in week 2 of program. Maintains curfew hours and lights-out policy in the residence hall. In conjunction with the Residential Coordinator, conducts night shift rotations. Assists with office responsibilities as needed. Attends all corresponding training and staff meetings. Support students and operations as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Active support for the College’s Principles of Community and Institutional Values in the performance of job duties. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be customer service oriented with excellent communication skills. Ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
