About The Position

We are a locally owned hospitality group in Albany, NY, proud to operate two distinct and highly regarded restaurants: Milano Restaurant – An elegant Italian dining experience known for handcrafted pasta, wood-fired entrees, and refined hospitality. Josie’s Table – A modern farm-to-table restaurant focused on seasonal cooking, sustainable sourcing, and bold, creative flavors. We are looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to lead the pastry and dessert programs across both concepts. Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional pastry experience, ideally in fine dining or boutique restaurants.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian pastry and classical baking techniques.
  • Passion for local, seasonal ingredients and innovative flavor combinations.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • A strong eye for presentation and detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute distinct dessert menus for both restaurants: traditional Italian favorites for Milano and seasonal, farm-forward creations for Josie’s Table.
  • Oversee daily pastry production, prep, and plating with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
  • Manage pastry staff, scheduling, and training.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chefs and local farmers to source fresh, sustainable ingredients.
  • Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards are met.
