About The Position

KraftHeinz seeks a Head of R&D: Packaging & Process, Digital Transformation and External Partnerships. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and visionary leader to shape the future of our organization in the digital age.

Requirements

  • Experience in Process and/or Packaging Development digital transformation in the CPG industry (Food CPG preferred)
  • Strong understanding and experience with digital tools and technologies, such as AI, Smart Sensors, Modeling and Simulation, and Digital Twins.
  • 15+ years experience in R&D, process scale-up, packaging development, pilot plant and plant operations with demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Track record of change management and upskilling technical teams to adopt digital workflows.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with ability to prioritize work.
  • Knowledge of IP strategy, secure data handling, and regulatory requirements relevant to the Food industry.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to navigate legal, QA, and supply/operations interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive digital strategy and program to transform our approach to Packaging and Process Development.
  • Implementation of Methodology of Process and Packaging Development frameworks and, for critical systems, development of Transformation Flow Sheets and virtualization.
  • Reduce development cycle time, reduce number of trials, and enable vertical start-ups by shifting R&D from empirical, trial-heavy work to model-driven, data-anchored development.
  • Managing and governing our External Partnerships/Open Innovation program, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, focus, and budget adherence.
