About The Position

Layer Health was founded in 2023 by leading machine learning researchers from MIT and Harvard Medical School. We are building an AI layer that can accurately and scalably synthesize information from medical records, with the mission to reduce friction everywhere in healthcare. Our LLM-powered platform is solving chart review once and for all, across use cases. For health systems, our first product dramatically accelerates clinical registry abstraction in areas ranging from surgery and cardiology, to oncology. Our long term vision is for our AI layer to safely transform patient care and minimize unnecessary heartbreak. Layer Health’s diverse founding team brings expertise across machine learning, UI/UX, large language models, and medicine. Here’s a collection of articles about our product, mission, recent funding round, etc. We’re currently hiring our first Head of Marketing. You'll help define and lead Layer Health’s marketing strategy across digital marketing, product marketing, and go-to-market (GTM) channels. You’ll drive demand, awareness, and trust among our core audiences—clinicians and hospital/health systems executives and board members - while positioning Layer Health as a category-defining technology in healthcare AI. You’ll work cross-functionally with the CEO, sales, clinical, and product teams to design scalable growth strategies that align with our mission and business goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least the last 5 years in healthcare SaaS.
  • Proven success owning GTM strategy and execution in early-stage or growth-stage companies.
  • Experience marketing to health systems, hospitals, and clinicians—comfortable navigating the complexity of enterprise healthcare sales.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, SEO/SEM, content strategy, and analytics.
  • Strong background in product marketing—translating complex technology into clear, compelling value propositions.
  • Track record of scaling marketing engines from Series A to Series B and beyond.
  • Data-driven mindset with a creative edge—able to measure what matters and move fast.
  • Excellent communication and executive-presence; able to influence internally and externally.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience growing and leading marketing teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own Marketing Strategy & Execution: Set the vision and roadmap for brand, product, and digital marketing.
  • Lead GTM Strategy: Develop GTM plans for new products, features, and partnerships, aligning with sales and customer success.
  • Oversee Product Marketing: Shape messaging and positioning for clinicians and health-system leaders, connecting technical depth with clinical outcomes.
  • Drive Digital Marketing: Lead demand generation, paid/organic campaigns, content, and events to build pipeline and brand equity.
  • Enable Sales: Create targeted materials (case studies, ROI models) to empower sales and customer teams.
  • Measure Impact: Establish KPIs for acquisition, engagement, pipeline contribution, and brand visibility.
  • Build and Lead a Team: Hire, mentor, and inspire a high-impact marketing team.
  • Shape the Brand: Be the external voice of Layer Health in the market.
