About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the role of Head of IT Strategy and Architecture for Mercer, a Marsh business. This pivotal position will work closely with business and technology leaders to identify and articulate complex challenges, translating them into actionable strategies and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of enterprise architecture (EA) and IT strategy, with a proven ability to foster collaboration across various teams to drive organizational success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and technology governance.
• Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying and addressing complex challenges.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies such as AI that impact enterprise architecture.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in banking, asset management, or investment management is highly desirable; broader consulting industry experience is also an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Leadership of the Mercer EA Function: Lead the evolution of the Enterprise Architecture function by developing, advocating for, and supporting the enterprise’s IT strategies. Ensure that the governance structure and compliance activities are in place and that EA activities align with organizational requirements.
• Business Strategy Analysis: Collaborate with the Mercer business to define and analyse their business strategy.. Develop IT strategies that are aligned and support these business strategies.
• Roadmap Development: Develop comprehensive technology roadmaps that outline the transition from current to future state. Promote the EA process, outcomes, and results throughout the organization, leading the design of innovative technology solutions based on business requirements.
• Documentation Oversight: Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders.
• Technology Architecture Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of the current technology landscape to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Stay informed on technology industry and market trends to assess their impact on EA.
• Collaboration with IT Leaders: Work closely with other IT leaders to ensure alignment of plans with deliverables, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared goals.
• Project Consultation: Consult with project teams to ensure projects align with enterprise architecture, identifying when modifications to the architecture are necessary to accommodate project needs.
• Infrastructure Development Consultation: Collaborate with infrastructure development project teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with the required technical architecture, making necessary adjustments to the technical architecture as needed.
• Communication and Education: Lead the development and execution of communication and education plans for EA, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the EA process.
