About The Position

Trillium Health Resources is a Tailored Plan and Managed Care Organization (MCO) serving 46 counties across North Carolina. We manage services for individuals with serious mental health needs, substance use disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and intellectual/development (IDD) disabilities. Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for a Head of Internal Compliance to join our team! The Head of Internal Compliance reports within the General Counsel (Appeals and Compliance) Department directly to the Senior Compliance Director. The Head of Internal Compliance is required to report on the level of compliance or non-compliance found as a result of internal monitoring and auditing of Trillium departments and vendors; the success of efforts to improve internal agency compliance with laws, rules, regulations and contractual requirements, including training and education; and the recommendations and referrals for corrective actions to be taken with respect to issues found to be non-compliant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant compliance experience including a combination of experience with behavioral health/mental health, substance abuse, developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders populations or field, regulations compliance and program integrity activities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must reside within North Carolina.
  • Must be able to travel within catchment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervision of two (2) or more employees.
  • Experience in any of the following areas is also preferred: Public speaking, mediation and/or problem resolution, group facilitation, advocacy, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight of the following areas: Internal Compliance Team by conducting reviews on various departments within Trillium and Trillium vendors to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure a confidential and effective system for staff to report and/or address concerns regarding perceived compliance violations without fear of retaliation.
  • Respond to alleged violations of law, rules, regulations or standards of conduct within Trillium by evaluating and/or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Responsible for the oversight of internal compliance which includes but is not limited to internal department reviews, vendor reviews, and issues reported to Service Now ticket system.
  • Maintain communication with other departments and vendors participating in the reviews.
