Head of GTM Operations

RunlayerNew York, NY

About The Position

AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. Runlayer is fixing that by building a platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents with purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability. The company has raised $11M from Khosla Ventures and Felicis and serves customers like Gusto, Instacart, and Opendoor. The team consists of 25, mostly engineers, shipping fast. The Head of GTM Operations will be the strategic counterpart to the VP of Sales, responsible for architecting the GTM playbook, hiring and leading the operations team, and partnering with the founding team on commercial decisions. This role involves building the operational systems to scale the company, leveraging a strong existing pipeline and accelerating inbound interest.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12+ years of progressive GTM operations experience in sales operations, revenue operations, or GTM operations at high-growth SaaS or infrastructure companies, with an understanding of scaling across Series A, B, and C.
  • A track record of building, not just running, a GTM operating model from scratch or near-scratch at a company that scaled meaningfully, with the ability to describe owned systems, frameworks, and decisions, including successes, failures, and lessons learned.
  • Senior operator presence, capable of engaging with a CEO, VP of Sales, and CRO, bringing data and structure to debates, and remaining calm and decisive under pressure.
  • Operating rigor, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks, bringing structure to fast-moving environments without slowing them down, and maintaining forecasting cadences, CRM discipline, and quarterly planning cycles while shipping new infrastructure.
  • Leadership instinct, with experience managing people directly or leading cross-functional initiatives as a de facto operating leader, and excitement for building and developing a team.
  • Active AI user, incorporating AI tools into daily workflow and possessing a perspective on the future of the agent space.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical depth: A coding background is strongly preferred. Ability to pull and manipulate data, automate a workflow, or wire together an API without engineering support. Understanding of modern AI tooling through daily use.

Responsibilities

  • Own the GTM operating system, including forecasting, pipeline inspection, deal stage discipline, territory and segmentation strategy, comp plan design, quota setting, and onboarding playbooks, as the GTM org scales from 7 to 35+ in the next 12 months.
  • Manage the revenue operations stack, ensuring pipeline hygiene, forecast accuracy, dashboards, attribution, and reporting for leadership and the board.
  • Own the strategy and systems for the outbound and account intelligence engine, enabling SDR and AE teams to work the right accounts at the right time, and hiring GTM engineering talent to maintain and extend this layer as the org scales.
  • Identify and implement automation and operating leverage, such as call summaries to CRM, follow-up triggers, meeting intelligence, inbound routing, sentiment scoring, and deal intelligence dashboards, to eliminate manual work.
  • Hire and lead the operations function, owning the talent strategy, org design, and development of every operator reporting to you as the GTM org grows past 35.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the VP of GTM, participating in all leadership conversations about the GTM motion, providing data, structure, and recommendations, and being accountable for commercial outcomes.
