About The Position

About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 14 The Role: Head of Government Affairs - Mobility The Team: Join a best-in-class global Legal, Compliance, Risk & Government Affairs team committed to delivering timely, practical and actionable advice to advance our business and safeguard our reputation, people, and assets. This position reports directly to the EVP, Chief Legal Officer and will be a core member of the function’s leadership team. This leader will play a critical role as the business becomes an independent public company and will develop a global strategy and operating model for the company’s centralized and matrixed Government Affairs team, taking into consideration the present team footprint and business needs. Responsibilities and Impact: The Head of Government Affairs will lead Mobility’s government relations and public policy strategy, establishing an international practice (predominantly Europe, but potentially also APAC) and continuation of state, local, and federal engagement in the Americas. This leader will serve as a representative to policymakers, regulators, and influential stakeholders, driving advocacy initiatives and data enablement that advance our business objectives, ensure regulatory compliance, and shape the external environment in alignment with our mission and values. Your work will be closely coordinated with your colleagues across the business teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or related roles; Capitol Hill, EU Commission or comparable corporate experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks and automotive/mobility, data and technology‑related policy issues.
  • Strong track record of leadership handling legislative, regulatory, and policy initiatives from conception through completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute advocacy strategies and to work effectively with senior executives, policymakers, and industry leaders.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information concisely and facilitate discussions with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to manage high-volume, complex environments with sound judgment and adaptability.
  • Fosters inclusivity and manages emotions to achieve optimal business outcomes.
  • Able to effectively pivot direction and delegate responsibilities, utilizing team strengths to meet strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Develop and execute a global government affairs strategy aligned with business priorities.
  • Provide regular briefings to executive leadership on legislative developments, policy trends, and advocacy efforts.
  • Ensure policy positions and messaging are consistent across markets.
  • Legislative & Regulatory Engagement & Policy Tracking Monitor, synthesize, and communicate relevant policy changes, laws, and regulations affecting the Company, providing actionable guidance to the business and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal legal and regulatory teams to evaluate business implications.
  • Draft policy briefs, testimony, and other advocacy materials.
  • Advocacy & Representation Represent the Company before legislators, regulators, industry forums, and government stakeholders.
  • Lead engagement with bill sponsors, committee staff, and agency officials to advance the Company’s policy objectives.
  • Engage with European, Canadian provincial and US state and local agency officials to facilitate access to government or public data.
  • Manage external consultants, lobbyists, and industry coalitions.
  • Coalition & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strategic relationships with regulators, elected officials, industry partners, trade associations, and other influential stakeholders to advance the Company’s interests.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, strategy, marketing, and business teams to address government affairs matters and support go-to-market initiatives.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation Ensure compliance with lobbying, reporting, and political contribution requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate regulatory and geopolitical risks.
  • Communications & Issues Management Serve as a spokesperson on government affairs matters.
  • Develop clear, persuasive messaging for policymakers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide timely analysis of emerging issues and geopolitical trends.
  • Support crisis response efforts in coordination with legal and senior leadership.
  • Operational & Budget Oversight Manage the government affairs budget, including lobbying expenses, association memberships, and consultant contracts.
  • Identify and map relationships and touchpoints; develop a centralized view and strategy for future engagement and tracking.
