Role/Department: The Head of FX Product Management is responsible for leading and managing the global FX product management team supporting Northern Trust’s CustodyFX, CompleteFX, Currency Management and eFX businesses. Partnering closely with the Global Head of FX and the FX Leadership Team, this role drives FX product strategy, develops new product capabilities, and supports the growth of business revenues and profitability. The role acts as the global product authority for FX, overseeing product development from concept through sales rollout, while ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial discipline. The key responsibilities of the role include: The successful candidate will benefit from having: Product Strategy and Development Lead projects to develop new FX products and investment-related solutions from concept through full implementation and sales rollout. Drive strategic direction and develop product roadmaps aligned to client needs, market trends, and business objectives. Identify new product opportunities and enhancements across CustodyFX, CompleteFX, Currency Management and eFX. Review and define the future-state target operating model, including technology, operations, and compliance considerations. Client, Sales and Market Engagement Participate in client, prospect, and sales discussions and presentations to promote Northern Trust’s FX products and capabilities. Act as the FX product expert in client discussions, industry forums, and external engagements. Gather and analyse competitive intelligence and market data to inform product positioning and strategy. Monitor markets serviced to ensure product offerings remain competitive and relevant. Commercial Management Monitor product revenue, sales performance, and profitability. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including pricing and distribution models. Own pricing strategies and distribution approaches for FX products and solutions. Governance, Risk and Regulatory Oversight Maintain a thorough understanding of FX legal requirements, regulatory obligations, and industry standards. Ensure all products comply with applicable regulatory, legal, and internal governance requirements. Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to manage risk and support product delivery. Leadership and Collaboration Lead and manage the global FX product management team across the US and UK. Collaborate closely with the Head of PMO, Technology, Product Delivery, Risk & Compliance, and senior management to ensure execution of the product roadmap. Provide leadership, direction, and development support to build a high-performing global product team.

Requirements

  • Deep FX experience, ideally within a product management role covering CustodyFX, Transactional FX, Currency Management and/or eFX.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans that drive business growth.
  • In-depth functional and industry knowledge of the FX market.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with clients, partners, vendors, and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills, including setting goals, allocating resources, and developing team capability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable, with the ability to operate effectively in a changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Program or project management experience, including planning, analysis, design, and governance, is advantageous.
