About The Position

Zehnder Rittling is seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Head of Finance to join our team. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, strong analytical and strategic planning skills, and proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting with a manufacturing organization. Job Listings - Zehnder Rittling Jobs This Head of Finance will be responsible for managing daily accounting activities for the Buffalo, NY operation of Zehnder. Manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Accounting functions. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies and procedures. Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and closes. Recommend accounting process improvements and ensure adequate documentation of accounting procedures. Act as key contact to outside auditing firms and banks. Assist with accounting system upgrades/design of accounting system interfaces.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience including leadership roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting and manufacturing operations.
  • Expertise in U.S.GAAP, and financial reporting
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Good working knowledge and experience with NetSuite ERP in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting and reporting including general accounting.
  • Reconcile daily sales, review AR and AP aging, process internal and external commissions, analyze prepaids and accruals, bank reconciliation and review.
  • Direct the development, staffing, and training of the accounting department to maximize individual contribution towards company goals while creating a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Support HR with Payroll, Benefit Administration
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly and annual close processes including financial commentary and liquidity reporting.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and physical inventory counts.
  • Lead and manage annual review, compliance and tax reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly forecast, annual budgets and presentations.
  • Prepare and file multi-state tax reports.
  • Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and assist with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements.
  • Provide information needed by outside auditing firms in support of annual audit and tax return preparation.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with supporting documentation.
  • Maintains internal control procedures adequate to safeguard and control the company's resources and records; ensures the confidentiality of financial and non-financial information contained in the company's accounts and files.
  • Variance analysis (purchase price variance, labor variance, spending variances).
  • Manage fixed asset purchases and related financing, ROI calculations, amortization, reporting.
