The Head of Fabrication is responsible for the comprehensive management of the Sheet Metal Production Unit, including strategic oversight of staffing, production planning, budgeting, SYNCHRO processes, and digitization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory or leadership role required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills essential.
  • Minimum: Associate's degree in a technical field (2-year degree)
  • Alternatively: A suitable combination of education and relevant work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with TRUMPF products is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall operations of the Sheet Metal Production Unit, ensuring alignment with company goals and production requirements.
  • Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term departmental strategies in line with TRUMPF Inc. objectives.
  • Forecast, plan, and manage departmental needs, including staffing, training, equipment, and capacity.
  • Review and adjust production schedules based on order intake and forecast data to meet delivery and quality targets.
  • Act as the primary interface between Sheet Metal Production and internal/external customers, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Ensure seamless coordination to support overall TRUMPF Inc. performance.
  • Define, track, and report on departmental KPIs.
  • Communicate performance metrics to team members and senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including SYNCHRO and digitization programs, to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the departmental budget to ensure cost-efficient operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members in accordance with TRUMPF's policies and values.
  • Oversee personnel management, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and succession planning.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards in collaboration with the Quality department.
  • Address and resolve product quality issues effectively.
  • Manage safety-related initiatives and compliance in cooperation with the Safety, Maintenance & Services (SM&S) department.
