Head of Direct Sales | Senior Vice President of Direct Sales - North America Position Summary The Head of Direct Sales | Senior Vice President of Sales for NWS is responsible for leading and scaling the company's direct sales organization to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability across all direct customer segments. This executive role owns the direct sales strategy, execution, and performance, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, vendor partnerships, and operational excellence. The SVP will build high-performing sales teams, optimize go-to-market motions, and strengthen customer relationships in a fast-paced telecommunications distribution environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably within telecommunications or technology distribution.
  • Proven track record of leading large direct sales organizations and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.
  • Deep understanding of direct sales and solution-based selling.
  • Strong financial acumen and forecasting capability.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with CRM and sales analytics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall direct sales strategy to achieve revenue, margin, and market share goals.
  • Lead global direct sales teams, including field sales, inside sales, and strategic account management.
  • Establish clear sales objectives, KPIs, compensation plans, and performance management frameworks.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales organization.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities, customer segments, and vertical markets.
  • Expand wallet share within existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling of products, solutions, and services.
  • Oversee pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and demand generation in partnership with marketing.
  • Ensure disciplined sales execution from prospecting through close and post-sale handoff.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Represent the company in negotiations for large, complex, or strategic deals.
  • Collaborate closely with vendor partners to align on go-to-market initiatives, promotions, and joint sales efforts.
  • Serve as a customer advocate, ensuring exceptional customer experience and long-term retention.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Solution Services to ensure seamless execution.
  • Align direct sales initiatives with pricing, inventory, logistics, and credit policies.
  • Work with Sales Operations to enhance CRM usage, data integrity, reporting, and analytics.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top sales leadership and talent.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning for high-potential leaders.
  • Design and support training programs to improve product knowledge, solution selling, and sales effectiveness.
  • Own direct sales budget, expense management, and ROI analysis.
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and contribute to corporate planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and contractual obligations.
