About The Position

The Head of Renewals is a strategic, senior leader responsible for driving customer retention, maximizing renewal rates, and expanding recurring revenue across the organization’s product and service portfolio. This role oversees the Renewals function, setting vision, building processes, managing a high-performing team, and collaborating cross‑functionally with Sales, Finance, and Product to ensure seamless renewal experiences and long-term customer value. The ideal candidate is data‑driven, operationally strong, commercially savvy, and passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in Renewals, Sales, Customer Success, or Revenue Operations; 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading Renewals function within a Born in Cloud environment
  • Strong understanding of SaaS/subscription business models and recurring revenue dynamics.
  • Proven ability to drive high renewal rates, reduce churn, and lead complex customer negotiations.
  • Highly analytical, with strong command of forecasting, metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.

  • Industry experience in Cloud-Native environments
  • Background in revenue operations, pricing strategy, or commercial operations.

  • Strong understanding of customer lifecycle, value realization, and adoption metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s renewal strategy, ensuring strong customer retention and predictable recurring revenue.
  • Define and manage renewal playbooks, processes, pricing strategy, escalation paths, and forecasting discipline.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Renewals team focused on customer value and revenue outcomes.
  • Own renewal forecasting, pipelines, KPIs, and performance dashboards to ensure accuracy and visibility across the business.
  • Partner with Customer Success to identify risks, improve adoption, and drive proactive renewal engagement.
  • Collaborate with Sales to coordinate upsell/cross-sell motions and ensure alignment on commercial strategy.
  • Partner with Finance on contract structures, pricing, discount guidelines, and renewal policies.
  • Continuously optimize processes, tools, and automation to improve efficiency and scale.
  • Directly oversee high-value or strategic renewals and customer negotiations.
  • Analyze churn and contraction drivers; lead initiatives to mitigate risk and improve customer loyalty.
  • Develop customer communication strategies to ensure renewals are timely, value-driven, and well-coordinated.
