We are seeking a Head of DevOps, reporting to the Head of Business Technology. This person will join a highly collaborative team responsible for designing, developing, modifying, adapting and implementing short- and long-term solutions to IT needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, and network systems and applications infrastructure. In addition to critical thinking skills, the ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage professional employees and/or contractors and exercise full management authority across either direct reports, peers, and/or a matrixed organization. The Director of DevOps role presents an opportunity to function fundamentally independently, receiving high-level and/or strategic guidance from IT or business leadership to self-direct, plan, and execute projects. Specific Responsibilities Include: Move the organization’s infrastructure to the cloud by collaborating and influencing the internal infrastructure team. Direct IT professionals who design, develop or support operations, infrastructure, and application software. Team members may be matrixed, peers, or direct reports. Provide guidance to assigned project managers, review project requests Monitor project and vendor budgets and coordinate schedules/departmental activities Contribute to the execution of the technical roadmap of key programs and product initiatives Monitor and identify performance indicators that can effectively report on the overall health of infrastructure, progress of projects and systems, and effectively mitigate risk and resolve issues Improve the application’s team’s technical capabilities by establishing best practices, collaborating with peers, and mentoring team members Manage the appropriate computing environments for the development and test teams to ensure the teams are using the correct tools and environments Contribute to the strategy for applications performance processes Ensure that hardware, software, and products meet and exceed internal standards and customer expectations Research and navigate new vendor products and identify what products are needed to address/fix hardware, operations, software, and the interactions of the above. Coordinate projects with vendors and hire or direct consultants to supplement staff in project work Works with user groups to solve business problems and develop strategy with available technology
