About The Position

The Head of Data Science - Monetization will lead the strategy and execution of data-driven initiatives that directly impact revenue generation and platform growth. This role combines technical leadership with business insight, providing guidance on experimentation, measurement, and analytics across monetization products. You will work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities, optimize decision-making, and shape the overall data science roadmap. The position requires balancing hands-on technical contributions with mentoring and developing a high-performing team. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, applied statistics, or machine learning; advanced quantitative degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in advertising or monetization data science, including marketplaces, targeting, measurement, auction dynamics, yield optimization, or attribution.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including managing and growing data science teams.
  • Strong fundamentals in experimentation, statistical reasoning, and measurement; ability to select appropriate methods and anticipate bias.
  • Experience leading complex analyses end-to-end from problem framing to actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to partner across the product development spectrum, from strategy to model deployment.
  • Exceptional communication skills: able to explain complex ideas clearly, influence decisions, and produce narratives that drive alignment.
  • Interest and aptitude for applying AI and emerging technologies to enhance productivity without compromising rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monetization data science roadmap: identify opportunities and risks, define success metrics, and align stakeholders on priorities.
  • Elevate data science craft across the team: set standards for analysis, experimentation, and decision-oriented insights; provide mentorship and reviews.
  • Contribute hands-on to solving high-leverage, ambiguous problems in measurement, experimentation, and modeling.
  • Drive experimentation and measurement: design and evaluate experiments, ensure accurate interpretation, and strengthen the measurement infrastructure.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other teams to translate data insights into strategic action.
  • Build scalable systems and reusable frameworks to improve team efficiency and reduce redundant work.
  • Lead and grow the data science team: hire, mentor, and develop talent, creating an inclusive, high-performing culture.
  • Represent the data science function in leadership discussions, presenting data-informed perspectives clearly to technical and executive audiences.
