This position will lead a team responsible for Contract Accounting for the U.S. in-vitro business (Diagnostics), ensuring accuracy of books and records and high quality of contract financial data, perform contract accounting for month, quarter and year end closing, prepare and collaborate on financial reporting (financial disclosures), and driving process improvements over the contract’s lifecycle. The Sr. Manager of Finance leads a team and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and improve the transparency of customer contracts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years related professional experience with accounting and leasing operations.
  • Advanced accounting knowledge, including Multiple Element Arrangements (“MEA” – IFRS 15), Contract Combinations, and Leasing (IFRS 16).
  • Demonstrate technical and analytical skills and proficiency with SAP functionality and knowledge of accounting guidelines.
  • Ability to perform Contractual Pricing, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) & PV/FV analyses.
  • Familiarity with commercial and lease contract documentation.
  • Experience in Portfolio Sales, Acquisitions and Servicing.
  • Experience with end of contract term Asset Management and Remarketing initiatives.
  • Strong people skills with ability to influence, motivate and develop team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamically changing environment.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and ability to drive change management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team under your direct leadership to ensure accuracy on financial records/internal controls, support internal and external auditors, and guidance for teams to solve complex SAP and business accounting related challenges.
  • Actively support the implementation of a new SAP platform (P58), with particular focus on financial data migration and reconciliation, fixed assets controls and subledgers, ensuring adequate migration of business balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Tracking a large portfolio of customer contracts over their lifecycle to properly forecast and account for financial impacts on company books and records. Special emphasis will be on mid-term events (such as early termination and contract refinance) and end of term (contract renewals and terminations) to ensure these activities meet corporate financial objectives.
  • Using deep knowledge of SAP P40 CLM module to identify the root causes of issues and coordinate IT enhancement to ensure the accuracy of contract value flows.
  • Knowledge of advanced accounting principles, including Multiple Element Arrangements (“MEA” – IFRS 15), Contract Combinations, and Leasing (IFRS 16) in the medical device industry.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly accounting postings, financial reporting for all business balance sheet and P&L accounts related but not limited to fixed assets, contract assets and liabilities, leasing specific accounts, and revenue recognition.
  • Reconcile general ledger postings by contract to the SAP P40 CLM module ensuring reporting accuracy of Balance Sheet and P&L, as well as preparation of complex monthly account reconciliations.
  • In-depth analysis of various contract types, product segments, and sales zones as required.
  • Ensure proper controls and documentation are in place to fulfill Internal Control requirements.
  • Prepare management summaries of financial impacts driven by changes in business strategy or accounting policy or other ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Main contact for internal and external auditors for relevant business accounting and internal controls topics, such as revenue recognition, leasing operations, fixed assets, amongst others.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects with accounting and financial expertise to enhance business efficiency and performance, including digitalization initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support for New Business and Sales Promotions.
  • Ensure timely filing of Personal Property taxes for the Portfolio of Operating Lease Fixed Assets and oversee the subsequent customer reimbursement.
