About The Position

At North Star Network, we’re searching for a Head of Content Western Europe to shape and lead our global content strategy across our portfolio of sports and iGaming brands for our Western Europe business Unit. This role suits someone who is both strategic and hands-on, with a deep understanding of SEO, editorial excellence, and digital performance — and who knows how to inspire teams to create impactful, high-quality content that drives growth. You would be working on Spanish, Portuguese , and French market (potentially extending to Italy and Germany). You’ll collaborate closely with our Business, SEO, Product, and Media teams, leading a multi-layered team of Content Managers, Editors, and Writers to deliver a unified, data-driven, and scalable content operation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of solid experience in leading content operations within digital media, sports, or iGaming.
  • Native or fluent in Spanish or Portugese or French
  • Strong understanding of SEO, audience growth, and content monetization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on operational oversight.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in analytics tools and performance measurement.
  • Native or fluent English; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Content Direction: Define and execute a global content strategy aligned with business and monetization goals.
  • Translate market insights, SEO data, and audience behavior into actionable content roadmaps.
  • Ensure high editorial quality, compliance, and E-E-A-T standards across all brands and markets.
  • Monitor performance and adjust priorities based on ROI and data-driven insights.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (Managers, Editors, Writers).
  • Set clear goals, KPIs, and growth plans for each team member.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the department.
  • Ensure resource allocation matches strategic priorities.
  • Content Planning, Validation & Optimization: Validate content strategies and top-page plans from Content Managers.
  • Oversee content optimization, updates, and keyword tracking for key business assets.
  • Work with SEO teams to ensure keyword coverage and internal linking performance.
  • Conduct periodic content and performance audits.
  • Market Intelligence & Business Integration: Analyze trends, competitors, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Business and Sales teams to ensure alignment with market priorities.
  • Guarantee compliance with regional regulations and brand tone.
  • Provide actionable insights and reports to leadership.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with SEO, Product, Media, and Business Units to align goals and execution.
  • Support UX and CRO initiatives impacting content performance.
  • Contribute to content amplification through cross-channel strategies.
