About The Position

NeuroBionics is seeking a Head of Business & Market Development to lead indication strategy and upstream marketing for NeuroBionics’ endovascular neuromodulation platform. In this role, you will be responsible for mapping the opportunity landscape and building a rigorous indication selection prioritization framework across neuro, autonomic, inflammatory, and cardiovascular domains. You will develop a strategic roadmap that integrates the feasibility constraints of our platform technology with clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, and market realities. The role will start as a part-time consulting engagement (~15–20 hours/week for 3-6 months) focused on building the indication selection framework and delivering a prioritized roadmap. With strong mutual fit, this role is expected to evolve into a full-time position owning indication strategy, upstream marketing, and strategic business development as the company scales. This is a highly cross-functional role suited for business development or upstream marketing leader with experience in market opportunity mapping, who will drive tangible results and executable strategy, and who is excited to shape the strategic trajectory of a platform medical device company. You’ll work closely with the CEO and CTO, and collaborate with external advisors and KOLs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in strategy, upstream marketing, business development, or related roles in the medical device sector or a closely related healthcare technology field.
  • Demonstrated experience with indication selection, market entry, or opportunity prioritization for new devices or platforms.
  • Strong analytical skillset: market sizing, competitive analysis, and structured decision-making.
  • Ability to synthesize across technical, clinical, and commercial dimensions and communicate clearly to executives and stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, defensible strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to work closely with founders, advisors, engineers, and clinicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in at least one relevant domain: neuromodulation, endovascular devices, electrophysiology, structural heart, or implantable Class II/III devices.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial design, regulatory pathways, and reimbursement strategy.
  • Comfort with basic financial and market modeling (TAM/SAM/SOM); familiarity with value-based or HEOR frameworks.
  • Experience supporting investor-facing strategy, fundraising narratives, or strategic partnerships.
  • Platform-oriented mindset with appreciation for multi-indication strategy and long-term product roadmaps
  • Track record of working closely with founders at early-stage MedTech companies.
  • Advanced degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, physiology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

  • Create a rigorous, transparent indication selection and scoring framework, incorporating criteria such as technical feasibility, clinical need, competitive landscape, regulatory and reimbursement considerations, and economics.
  • Co-create and align on decision criteria, weights, and assumptions with founders, leadership, and key advisors
  • Identify and map a comprehensive list of potential indications across neuro, autonomic, inflammatory, and cardiovascular applications.
  • For each candidate indication, synthesize baseline data including epidemiology, standard of care, unmet need, competitive dynamics, market size, and reimbursement considerations.
  • Produce clear, investor-ready landscape analyses and summary materials.
  • Partner closely with engineering and clinical teams to understand NeuroBionics’ platform capabilities, anatomical access constraints, catheter limitations, and safety boundaries.
  • Incorporate insights from KOLs and domain experts regarding clinical workflows, referral pathways, trial risk, and regulatory considerations.
  • Translate technical and clinical constraints into quantitative and qualitative feasibility assessments within the indication framework.
  • Clearly document exclusions, no-go zones, and borderline opportunities requiring further R&D or clinical validation.
  • Apply the framework and data to deliver a ranked Top 3–5 indication roadmap.
  • Recommend a beachhead indication for early commercial traction, alongside follow-on and longer-term platform opportunities.
  • Clearly articulate assumptions, risks, and key decision drivers.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and advisors to integrate the indication strategy into the company’s fundraising and strategic narrative.
  • Support investor and strategic BD discussions with data, analysis, framing, and visuals that reinforce the wedge-plus-platform story.
  • Create and document a repeatable playbook for re-running the indication selection process as new data, capabilities, or opportunities emerge.
  • Transition or co-own the process with future strategy, BD, or market development hires as the organization grows.
