About The Position

Global Credit Finance (GCF) is State Street’s balance‑sheet lending and credit solutions platform, responsible for deploying the firm’s capital to support institutional clients while generating durable, risk‑adjusted returns. GCF plays a critical role in strengthening client relationships, enhancing balance‑sheet efficiency, and supporting State Street’s long‑term strategic objectives. We are seeking a Managing Director, Head of Asset Owners & Stable Value Wrap to provide enterprise‑level leadership with full strategic, commercial, and risk accountability for the business lines. Asset Owners includes our strategic Municipal, Corporate and Insurance clients, while Stable Value Wrap includes our strategic Global Client Division Asset Managers. The successful candidate will be a senior, market‑recognized leader with deep experience across institutional fixed income, stable value wrap and capable of engaging credibly with senior clients and internal stakeholders across the firm. This role owns the strategy, financial performance, and risk stewardship for businesses that are significant contributors to Global Credit Finance’s profitability and balance‑sheet diversification. The Managing Director will shape long‑term franchise direction, ensure disciplined risk governance, and represent State Street at the most senior client and industry levels.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in institutional fixed income markets and Stable Value or similar structured products.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or materially influencing P&L, balance‑sheet deployment, and risk outcomes.
  • Strong credit judgment and ability to manage complex risks.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven people leadership capabilities, including developing senior talent and building resilient organizations.
  • A collaborative, enterprise‑oriented mindset aligned with State Street’s values and culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 15+ years of relevant financial services experience, including institutional client‑facing and balance‑sheet‑driven roles.
  • Prior experience leading teams and managing material portfolio risk.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the global strategy for the Asset Owners and Stable Value Wrap businesses, aligned with State Street’s risk appetite and capital priorities.
  • Own P&L performance, portfolio growth, and risk‑adjusted returns across market cycles.
  • Provide executive oversight of credit underwriting, portfolio construction and ongoing surveillance across the range of businesses.
  • Partner closely with Enterprise Risk Management, Treasury, Legal, Finance, and Global Clients Division
  • Represent State Street with senior clients, industry bodies, regulators, rating agencies, and at conferences and external forums.
  • Drive cross‑sell and enterprise relationship opportunities in partnership with other State Street businesses.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, including succession planning and talent development across multiple levels.
  • Participate in division‑level and firm‑wide initiatives, committees, and strategic programs.
