About The Position

The Head of Fixed Income Brokerage and Advisory, CGWI Americas will be responsible for leading the fixed income brokerage, trading, and advisory activities across North and Latin America for Citi Private Bank and Citigold / Citi Private Client distribution channels. The position will be the key lead to building and growing the Americas Fixed Income business at Citi, including building a successful proactive sales and trading business, owning the platform end to end, improving the internal/external client experience, owning brokerage, trading, execution issues, drive enhancements to our business model, and delivering a robust direct to desk advisory coverage model. A successful candidate will own all administrative and risk related aspects of the fixed income business for Citi Wealth and will work with the respective product, control, and distribution partners across the organization (i.e. Bankers, Investment Counselors, Financial Advisors, Product Specialists, Institutional Partners, Banking and Capital Markets, Legal, Compliance, Risk, etc.) The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the financial industry, specifically in fixed income, be able to strategic direction for business growth and be results oriented. The ideal candidate should be a proven problem solver who is able to support the business and provide robust guidance, advise and challenge the way our brokerage, trading-execution, advisory business operates, ensuring all compliance and risk aspects are being considered owned and managed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience at trading desk, brokerage platform or similar institutional structure, with increased financial and distribution management experience in Financial Services
  • 5+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • 7, 24 and 63 required
  • Ability to influence others without having a direct reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Sales experience with clients and internal advisors
  • Superior inter-personal skills and decision-making judgment
  • Team building and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of various functional areas including customer services, underwriting/new business, producer compensation, investment back office, finance and regulatory compliance
  • Management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of senior and junior fixed income traders and advisors to create a best-in-class execution, advisory and service model
  • Manage service levels, streamline / troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Implement efforts to improve efficiency in our fixed income execution and trading platforms
  • Lead the relationship with internal Citi partners (institutional trading desks, operations, supervision, product, and control partners) to deliver on a best-in-class execution for client
  • Control of Errors, keep a log of errors and identify areas of opportunities to reduce / eliminate daily errors.
  • Maintenance of a minimum set of internal controls considered necessary to mitigate risks
  • Work closely with the sales and relationship partners to identify and address any client coverage, system and execution issues across Citi Private Bank and Citigold/Citi Private Client
  • Ensure proper backups are in place across the different functions within the team
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and rules governing trading and the policies and procedures of the department and Company.
  • Interact with Investments COO Office, Supervision and the Sales team acting as the primary point of contact ensuring that support provided is consistent and of the highest quality across all regions.
  • Own communications with Pershing and all relevant internal partners for the Pershing relationship relating to Fixed Income.
  • Ensure that all the platform capabilities and market access of the Team are effective and allow us to favorably compete within our target market.
  • Provide leadership and support in the identification, design, approval, training and successful implementation of new Capital Markets Products or variations.
  • Own and coordinate the multiple projects required to drive business efficiency and client experience
  • Modernize the platform, for full and self-service trading, identifying all opportunities and enhancements needed.
  • Engage with technology, compliance, and operations to drive changes.
  • Responsible to create a service model that is aligned to Citi Private Bank and Citigold/Citi Private Client channels.
  • Work closely with partners to ensure end to end experience is best-in-class.
  • Develop a coordinated business strategy across Americas to deliver the full range of products and solutions to our CPB and CGW target market clients.
  • Extensive interaction with our business partners to identify opportunities for our clients, partner with the broader Citi to deliver on a successful solutions business with our clients.
  • Work closely with Business Head and Capital Markets Head, to provide detailed business reporting, data analysis.
  • Focus on talent management, ensure the people strategy and organizational capabilities are aligned to the business strategy and brokerage needs
