About The Position

MSI Data is launching a new, dedicated AI team with a singular mission: to disrupt the Field Service software category through AI-native solutions. We are moving beyond simple automation to create intelligent, conversational, and agentic experiences that empower field service organizations. As the Head of AI Product , you will be the strategic engine behind our delivery. Working alongside our Principal AI Architect and Lead Designer, you will focus on high-velocity discovery—translating ambitious technical vision into valuable, usable, and feasible products. You are a builder first. You have shipped AI solutions before, and you know how to bridge the gap between complex AI models and the hands of users. This is a role for a leader who loves to solve difficult customer problems, validate hypotheses, and drive the team’s daily momentum.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Product Experience: You have a track record of shipping B2B SaaS products. Direct experience managing AI/ML product lifecycles is a strong differentiator.
  • An "Intrapreneur": You are comfortable moving fast in a startup-within-a-scaleup environment. You don't need a playbook; you are here to write it.
  • Problem-Obsessed: You fall in love with the problem, not the solution. You are comfortable killing a feature—even a cool one—if it doesn’t move the needle for the customer.
  • Technical Fluency: You don't need to write code, but you must understand the difference between deterministic software and probabilistic ML. You can hold your own in a debate with engineers about feasibility.
  • Collaborative yet Decisive: You can debate technical feasibility with a Tech Lead and commercial viability with the CEO, then synthesize those inputs into a clear path forward.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Problem Space: You will obsess over the ideal customer profile. You will identify the most "urgent pain" in FSM and validate that customers are willing to pay to solve it.
  • The Great Translator: You will translate fuzzy business needs into actionable engineering and design requirements. You won’t just ask for "AI capabilities"; you will define requirements anchored in quantitative ROI. You will articulate the precise measurable value each feature delivers to the customer, ensuring the technical team is building towards clear, economic outcomes rather than just technical milestones.
  • Define the MVP (and the "Don't Build" List): You will decide which features engineers build for the MVP. Crucially, you will have the confidence to say "no" to cool technology that doesn't solve a core user problem.
  • Orchestrate the AI Team: We are hiring you before scaling the engineering team to create clarity on the objective. You define the target; the engineers build the solution.
  • Navigate the "Physics" of AI: You will manage user expectations around probabilistic outcomes. You understand that AI is not magic—it is math—and you will design product experiences that handle uncertainty and imperfect data gracefully.
