About The Position

The Head of Advancement supports the mission of Rejoice Christian School by providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for advancement-related functions, including Development and Marketing/Communications, while working in close partnership with the Admissions Office to support healthy, mission-aligned enrollment. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role integrates fundraising strategy, brand storytelling, and enrollment collaboration to advance institutional sustainability and mission impact. The Head of Advancement cultivates a culture of generosity, strengthens community engagement, and ensures that external-facing efforts are unified, compelling, and aligned with RCS’s Christ-centered mission. In practice, this position serves as the school’s senior leader for revenue-growth strategy through philanthropy and advancement initiatives, helping ensure that generosity, messaging, and engagement efforts are mission-aligned, coordinated, and sustainable.

Requirements

  • Must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a Christ-centered lifestyle.
  • Active member in good standing of a local church.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in advancement, development, marketing, nonprofit management, or related fields (Christian education preferred).
  • Proven success in fundraising, donor relations, communications, or brand leadership.
  • Strong relational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, emotional intelligence, and commitment to mission and culture.

  • The Head of Advancement is eligible for a performance-based incentive program tied to clearly defined, board-approved goals. Incentives may be based on observable leadership outcomes and mission-aligned performance (e.g., strategic execution, team leadership, donor stewardship systems, campaign progress, communications effectiveness, and collaboration that strengthens mission-aligned enrollment), and are reviewed annually by the Head of School in partnership with the School Board. Incentives will not be calculated as a percentage of funds raised, nor structured as commissions or finder’s fees, in order to protect donor trust and align with widely accepted nonprofit fundraising ethics standards.
