About The Position

2026 Spartans Sports Camp is dedicated to providing an encouraging and positive environment that aids the development of its campers as both children and athletes. In the course of this goal, we intend to promote an active, healthy lifestyle for campers and to provide leadership opportunities for high school and college students. Spartans Sports camp is operated by the Mountain View High School Athletic Department. Since 2012, the camp has raised over $630,000 for MVHS Athletics.

Requirements

• Certified Lifeguard (Current). We will pay for your renewal training fees if needed.
• 18 years of age or older. 3 years of lifeguard experience.
• Pass background check if age 18 or older.
• Provide references upon request.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the pool deck at all times, supervises lifeguard, ensures lifeguard rotations and procedures are being followed.
• Set up and break down all pool equipment
• Oversee pool area
• Ensure camper safety on pool deck
• Close down pool area at the conclusion of swim time
• Help promote camp during school year
• Shifts are daily from 10:15 am – 12:45 pm. It is possible to work as a counselor during the same week you are a lifeguard as a "hybrid" position.
• Help promote camp during school year
• Attend ALL training sessions (primarily virtual this year). Employees will be dismissed if they miss trainings without prior approval.
