Apply today to the Summer Lifeguard position at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC). Job Summary: The Head Lifeguard at Boys & Girls Clubs is responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of all members. This position involves leading a team of lifeguards, ensuring safety protocols are being followed, and ensuring a positive experience for club members. Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of lifeguards. Provide guidance and support to lifeguards in enforcing policies and maintaining a safe environment. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for club members and staff Emergency Response: Monitor aquatic areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies. Administer first aid and CPR as necessary, coordinating with emergency medical services when needed. Document and report incidents, near-misses, and any violations of safety policies.
Requirements
- This position requires valid lifeguard certification. We offer the certification at our facility.
- Attend training to continue to develop as a staff member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County.
- Be a positive role model for our Club members.
- Implement additional duties as assigned.
- Shallow Water Lifeguarding course prerequisite skills
