About The Position

The Head Girls Junior High Soccer Coach will maximize the powerful platform of athletics for the purpose of developing, training and educating students in soccer to enhance the potential of all athletes. The coach will fill this crucial role through prayer, practice and discipline. The coach will report to the Head Varsity Soccer Coach. This is a stipend-only position for the season from November 2nd to the end of January. Practice times are 2:15–4:30 PM on school days, and game days are primarily Fridays, with typical game times at 4:00 PM, 5:15 PM, or 6:45 PM.

Requirements

  • Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and be a member of a Bible believing church.
  • Must possess a coaching philosophy that embraces the mission and core values of Faith.
  • Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of soccer as defined by the United States Soccer Federation.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of soccer coaching experience at the U13 level or higher in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated admin skills in scheduling, organizing and managing a soccer program from 6-12th grade.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Proven experience discipling and mentoring young women on and off the field.
  • Mastered knowledge of the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary to effectively run a successful soccer program.
  • Experience building a soccer program at the lower levels to support the future of the varsity team.
  • Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills with players, parents, staff and coaches.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
  • Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.
  • Speaks with clear articulation.
  • Excellent technology skills and willing to adapt to technology changes.

Responsibilities

  • Seeks to model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and exemplifies a Christ-like character both on and off the field.
  • Responsible for the positive development of players in academics, athleticism, soccer skills, and their daily walk with Jesus Christ.
  • Work closely with the Head Varsity Soccer Coach on program development, training, hiring, retention and evaluation of the junior high soccer coaching staff.
  • Manage and supervise daily practices, scrimmages and games to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline and respect that honor The Lord.
  • Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team development.
  • Follow established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies and uniforms.
  • Maintain records to ensure compliance with all pertinent TAPPS and GFCS regulations, including eligibility forms, transfer forms and attendance.
  • Coordinates and oversees all middle school game day operations, including field setup, takedown, equipment management, and ensuring games run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Required to take and maintain accurate daily attendance records.
  • Instructs athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
  • Actively involved and integrated into the ministry opportunities and special activities of the school such as mission trips, service projects, retreats, pep rallies, banquets and parent nights.
  • Work with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
  • Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program and school community.
  • Update the Head Varsity Soccer Coach frequently about any issues, concerns, or highlights.
  • Reports all injuries/accidents in a timely manner to the athletic trainer.
  • Attend staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
  • Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
  • Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
  • Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.
