About The Position

The Head Football Coach position will report to the Building Administrator. This position will lead and manage its interscholastic football program and be responsible for building competitive, student-centered programs that emphasizes sportsmanship, academic success, character development, and safety in accordance with VHSL regulations and Stafford County Public Schools policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Previous football coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred
• Teaching certification or school employment preferred, per district policy
• Completion of all VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED, concussion training, background check)
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the football program (varsity and sub-varsity levels)
• Plan and conduct effective practices and competitions
• Supervise and support assistant coaches
• Promote academic achievement and positive behavior among student-athletes
• Ensure compliance with VHSL, district, and school policies
• Manage equipment, scheduling, and program organization
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration
