About The Position

The Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire a Head Custodian for Weston High School. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 PM with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break), reporting to the Building Principal and the Director of Facilities. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate, equip, and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community. About the Weston Public Schools The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary, desegregation program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 166 students (K-12).

Responsibilities

  • Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion
  • Supervision and training of custodians
  • Operation of all building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers and temperature control systems
  • Preparing of daily reports and other logs
  • Checking the building for maintenance and security
  • Dealing with emergency situations
  • Energy conservation
  • Perform weekend building checks from November 1 to April 1 as required by contract.
  • Maintain grounds adjacent to the school building, including the playground
  • Make minor repairs
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, administrators, students, and families
  • Other duties as assigned
