Our Nutrition Services team is dedicated to providing exceptional food and service to our patients, visitors, and staff. We achieve this by adhering to consistent procedures and maintaining the highest food safety standards. To support Lakewood Health System’s mission by preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals that promote resident well-being and uphold food safety and sanitation standards. The Head Cook assists in meal preparation, service, and kitchen maintenance. This role ensures timely and accurate food production, maintains cleanliness, and follows established safety and dietary guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to work within a team environment to efficiently deliver meal services.
  • Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and organizational skills in all tasks.
  • Adapt to a face-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and portioning assigned meal components following standardized recipes.
  • Assisting with meal plating, tray assembly, and service to residents and customers.
  • Maintaining proper food temperatures and documenting records as required.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Practicing safe food handling, storage, and rotation.
  • Supporting special events and catering as directed.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and ongoing education.
