POSITION SUMMARY: The USM Head Coach Football role is multifaceted, requiring expertise in coaching, recruiting, administration, and compliance. Planning and directing the activities of the USM Football program, ensuring that the team follows the direction and mission of USM and the Athletic Department. Beyond winning games, the coach is expected to develop student-athletes holistically, ensuring they succeed academically, athletically, and personally while representing the University of Saint Mary with integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred
• 3-5 years related experience
• Must have working knowledge of NAIA and KCAC rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the USM football program with emphasis on conduct, discipline, academic achievement and positive character development of student-athletes.
• Teach and promote the USM Mission values of community, respect, justice and excellence
• Identify, recruit and retain talented student-athletes that readily adapt to the college environment.
• Responsible for administering NAIA, KCAC and USM policies pertaining to recruitment and student-athlete eligibility.
• Evaluate player performance and foster skill development.
• Field a competitive team through evaluation of own and opposition team capabilities to determine game strategy
• Manage program budgets, travel planning, and fundraising efforts.
• Supervise all practices and competitions
• Supervise assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and support staff.
• Assist the Athletic Department in all sport events, promotions, fundraising, and recruitment efforts.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
