Proven purpose-based educator who implements the Minnesota "Why we Play" philosophy in their coaching with a focus on District 196 Guiding Principles and Core Values Successful coaching experience with high school aged student-athletes. Head high school coaching experience is preferred. Proven technical and instructional expertise. Game management experience as a head coach is preferred. Proven skills in leading team sports including working successfully with young adults, parents, and school administration. Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide positive leadership and productive partnerships with parents, the community, and associated programs. Ability to develop training programs individualized to the needs and experience of a diverse group of athletes ranging from beginning players to those with extensive training experience. Proven skills in developing effective and engaging practice plans that assist players in their continuous development. Proven successful ability in working with and developing a coaching staff for all levels of play. Possess successful leadership skills in collaborating with Booster Club and leading fundraising and program promotional events Committed to leading the youth association and developing great relationships with them through on-going presence at meetings, clinics, practices, and games to assist in player and coach development. Understanding of adolescent development and an ability to communicate effectively with and support young adult athletes. Desire to participate in continuing coaching education and hold current coaching licensure or certification. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred. Responsibilities: Provide leadership for the entire Boys Basketball Program at all levels of play from K-12. Develop relationships with all stakeholders to better develop life skills in all members of the program. Organization and implementation of team practices. Implement strength and conditioning program for in-season training and out-of-season training in collaboration with Champions Club. Open communication with parents. Open communication with athletic director. Athlete development and program promotion. Instruction of athletes in fundamentals and techniques. Program support for student-athletes for academic progress and commitment to athletic improvement.
