Troubleshoot point of sale problems. Effectively train and direct the activities of cashiers assigned to the front end and set the standard for customer service. Ensure that associates assigned to the front-end consistently follow all policies and procedures including established safety procedures; communicate issues to the manager. Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements. Perform register sales transaction quickly and accurately in accordance with cash control procedures and customer service guidelines. Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by store management. Acts as lead cashier without formal supervisory responsibilities in training and reviewing the work of cashiers. Assists with the work schedule of cashiers. Assist management in the interviewing of new cashiers. Relay communication to associates from management and vice versa. Watch for shoplifters and take action, in line with Elder’s policy, that discourages shoplifting. Provide motivation and leadership to associates in the assigned department. Other duties as assigned.
