About The Position
The Head Cashier position at Food City involves promoting and maintaining efficient and courteous service to customers at all times. The role includes supervising and monitoring front-end managers, computer room operators, cashiers, courtesy clerks, and Gas-n-Go staff. Responsibilities also include coordinating pickup lanes, maintaining security of the safe and change fund, overseeing safe counts and weekly safe reports, and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures. The Head Cashier will oversee cash pickups, deposits, check cashing procedures, and monitor Valucard policies. Additionally, the position requires preparing weekly schedules for front-end associates, enforcing front-end policies, maintaining supplies, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding sales. The Head Cashier will also follow proper procedures for selling various products and services, understand how to submit weekly sales reports, and perform any other duties assigned by a manager or supervisor.
