Requirements

Strong leadership and organization skills.
Knowledge of youth development and previous experience working in a camp setting.
Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week).
First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp.
Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.

Nice To Haves

Lifeguard certification desired.

Responsibilities

Responsible for supervising and coaching all camp counselors, providing visibility and access to staff throughout the day.
Responsible for correcting camper conflict when unit counselors are unable to, following camp policies and procedures.
Responsible for assisting with staff training and staff scheduling.
Communicate issues relating to staff to Camp Director.
Assist in coordination of daily programming, curriculum writing, first aid materials, medications.
Serve as point-person on field trips.
Set the example for counselors in professionalism, enthusiasm, and engagement with campers and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
