Department: Parks + Rec-Seasonal Jobs Title: Seasonal Worker III - Camp Counselor Location: Blue Springs, MO - Kemper Outdoor Education Center Grade: 099NM Salary: $16.00/hour Job Duties: Work with a group of campers to provide a fun, safe, and exciting camp experience. Respond to incidents such as behavior problems or accidents according to camp policies and procedures. Document events and maintain records, discuss concerns with parents when needed. Report issues to Head Counselor. Act as a constant encourager and role model for campers. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Successful applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for most of the camp day. Preferred experience working in a youth-focused setting. Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities. Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week). First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp. Lifeguard certification desired. Must have completed High School or GED. Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
