About The Position

Alamo Group Inc. is seeking a dynamic HCM Senior Digital Project Manager to The Senior Digital Project Manager will lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll across a global, publicly traded industrial manufacturing enterprise. This role ensures the successful delivery of a complex, multiregion Workday deployment that modernizes HR and payroll processes, harmonizes global data, and supports strategic digital transformation objectives. The position is located at Alamo Group's Corporate Headquarters in Seguin, TX (approximately 25 miles east of San Antonio, TX). Requirements

  • Strong understanding of global payroll compliance and local statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive consensus, and lead through change.
  • Strong expertise across Workday modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Security, Reporting, and Payroll functionality.
  • Proven ability to manage complex global programs with distributed teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model Alamo Group’s Core Leadership Competencies: Leading Change / Change Management Leading People / Teamwork Communication Business Acumen Results Driven
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing enterprise-scale digital transformation or HRIS projects.
  • Led 1 or more end-to-end Workday HCM implementation; Payroll and global strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in or leading implementations for publicly traded companies, with understanding of SOX, internal controls, and audit readiness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday Extend, Deel, or integration frameworks preferred
  • Experience with industrial or manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
  • PMP, Agile, or Workday certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle implementation of Workday HCM and Payroll, including planning, design, configuration, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
  • Own the global project roadmap, scope, deliverables, and timeline across multiple business units and regions.
  • Manage vendor partners and Workday implementation consultants, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and contractual commitments.
  • Establish and enforce project governance, steering committee updates, RAID logs, and status reporting.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT Security, and Compliance leadership to define requirements and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across global HR operations, shared services centers, and regional manufacturing sites.
  • Drive change management, communication planning, and stakeholder readiness across diverse populations.
  • Partner with Workday functional leads to drive design and configuration decisions; ensure requirements, testing, and approvals are executed on time. Ensure system design meets global standardization goals while supporting necessary regional legislative, tax, and union requirements.
  • Coordinate integrations with ERP systems, time & attendance, benefits providers, and other enterprise applications.
  • Partner with IT Security and Compliance to ensure alignment with SOX and data privacy regulations.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and interlocks; create mitigation strategies to avoid delivery delays.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing, data conversion, payroll parallel testing, and validation cycles.
  • Drive continuous improvement and post go live optimization.
