About The Position

The Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the care and management of psychiatric and behavioral health patients by providing nursing assistance and nursing services per the Board of Nursing guidelines. This position monitors psychiatric symptoms, screens for medical issues and provides coordination with medical providers. The LPN will perform clinical care, and documentation of care, treatment, medication and patient teaching in accordance with Nursing Standards. Must be available for on-call crisis rotation on an as needed basis. Understanding of nursing standards and ability to work with individuals in the community that are not in a clinical setting and provide medication education to members. Understanding of nursing principles, medication storage, HIPAA standards and medical service coordination. Ability to work with members who have mental illness that may require frequent redirection. Ability to document clearly, concisely, and timely all required documentation. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively. Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in either inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance required.
  • Understanding of nursing standards
  • Understanding of nursing principles, medication storage, HIPAA standards
  • Ability to work with members who have mental illness that may require frequent redirection.
  • Ability to document clearly, concisely, and timely all required documentation.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adults with mental illness is preferred.
