Job Description Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements; Perform cleanup duties; Perform material handling and storage duties; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks; Responsible for operating roller machine to compact materials such as soil, gravel, asphalt or concrete in road and foundation construction.; Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, GPS and supervisor to maintain grade.; Ensures smoothness to graded/rolled subgrade, sub-base, etc.; Drives machine in successive/overkapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling surface to subgrade desired compaction and smoothness.; Determines speed and direction of maching base don knowledge of compressibilty of material under changing temperatures.; Distributes, breaks down, compresses, and gives a finished surface to soils, sub-grades, cooling asphalt, etc.; Coordinates machine actions with other activities, positining and moving the machine in respoinse to hand or audio signals from crew members. Communicates with paving crew & supervisor on job density requirements.; Daily maintenance of fluids, inspection of roller and other used equipment.; Monitors rolling temperature and works within temperature best suited for material being laid.; Determines drum rolling mode(s).Establishes rolling pattern and determines paving width, roller drum width, drump overlap, and paver speedd. ; Works with density technician as required to make certain density requirements are being met.; Works with paving crews with hand rolling, wacker work, manholes and catch basins. Helps trim edge lines is paving with asphalt material.; Understand proper techniques for rolling transverse joints; recognized flow lines and inverts; tries to minimize roller marks.; All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
