About The Position

Responsible for the safe collection, packaging, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensures accurate recordkeeping and supports a safe work environment through routine inspections, proper equipment operation, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Hazardous Waste/Biohazard Experience 1-2 years required
• Strong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, including familiarity with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and other applicable guidelines.
• Knowledge of spill response procedures, containment techniques, and waste disposal methodologies.
• Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment and other safety equipment effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage waste inventories and maintain accurate documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy containers or equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, segregate, and dispose of hazardous waste materials in accordance with established procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Inspect, identify, label, and package hazardous waste for safe transport and storage.
• Operate and maintain waste handling, containment, and related equipment to ensure safe and compliant operations.
• Monitor and document hazardous waste accumulation areas, maintaining accurate records and compliance with storage requirements.
• Support waste reduction and recycling initiatives to minimize hazardous waste generation.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of waste storage areas, spill response equipment, and safety showers/eyewash stations.
