About The Position

General Production - Harvest - MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE ON HARVEST FLOOR TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION. Responsible for the overall preparation of meat products for sale all while ensuring health and safety standards are met. Must have prior experience in harvest production. Openings on A and B shift! Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution, two (2) years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment or six (6) months experience in fresh pork processing facility.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents in the English or Spanish language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
  • Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Demonstrated ability to understand advanced statistics and statistical analysis for process control.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; speak; hear taste and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Manual handling of product
  • The use of hand tools, including knives, machinery, and equipment
  • Checking products to ensure they are up to USDA standards
  • Monitoring machines and equipment and adjusting when necessary
  • Adhering to all safety procedures and policies; and performing additional duties as requested by supervisor
