About The Position

Harvest Pointe is seeking a pool/on-call team member who is open to being cross-trained as a Resident Care Assistant and Cook. This role offers a flexible, as-needed schedule that varies based on staffing needs, making it an excellent fit for someone looking for supplemental hours — such as a college student, semi-retired professional, or anyone who enjoys a flexible work arrangement. In this role, you’ll help provide compassionate care to residents while also assisting with meal preparation to support a warm, welcoming environment.

Requirements

A high school education or equivalent is desired.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activity services.
Must be able to relate information concerning a residents condition.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and the appearance of dietary service areas.
Must follow dietary uniform standards.
Must be able to handle prolonged standing, bending, and turning.
Must be able to handle repetitive motion.
Must be 18 years old or older.
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 4 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 6 feet.
Stock personnel may be required to lift cases up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.

Nice To Haves

Three to one (1) years dietary experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required.
