About The Position

As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced Hardware Technician to join the Hands team. In this role, you will work closely with all hardware and software disciplines to design, fabricate, and test electromechanical prototypes, helping accelerate product development and innovation. You will leverage your broad expertise in electrical debug & testing, scripting, and rapid mechanical prototyping to build and test functional parts and assemblies that integrate into our robotic hand systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in robotics, automotive, consumer electronics hardware development organizations
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment like oscilloscopes and power supplies and data logging
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Onshape for creating 3D models and engineering drawings
  • Strong hands-on experience with 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, manual machining tools, and hand tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative, hands-on approach to hardware development.
  • Experience creating detailed documentation, including assembly guides and test procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with robotic systems and mechatronic assemblies.
  • Experience in designing custom test rigs for component validation.
  • Understanding of data acquisition systems and test automation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with EE, FW, and MEs to accelerate development cycles for our robotic hand.
  • Debug and test PCBAs on initial bring-up and validation, flash firmware, and perform component rework when needed
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble custom mechanical prototypes, including structural components, enclosures, joints, and mechanisms for robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure smooth integration of prototypes into the overall system design.
  • Perform hands-on assembly and testing of prototypes to validate fit, function, and performance under real-world conditions.
  • Document your work by creating drawings, assembly guides, and test reports to support future development and scalability.
