About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a results-driven, team-oriented individual who understands the importance of quality for organizational success. The role involves performing visual, electrical, and assembly-related mechanical in-process inspections, receiving, and some final inspections under supervision. The inspector will ensure compliance with company and industry specifications, including verifying the build of CCAs, modules, components, and chassis-level items, as well as supporting test readiness activities and monitoring tests. This position also requires interfacing with Quality Engineers and Product Line Managers to discuss the suitability of inspected parts and materials.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to both internal and external customers.
  • Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure to support customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Understanding of Windows environment including standard Microsoft Office tools is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance principles
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis
  • AS 9100/ISO 9001 quality system experience.
  • Experience in micro circuits and/or circuit card assemblies
  • Experience with engineering drawing review and interpretation
  • Experience evaluating complex electronic hardware, under magnification, to IPC-J-STD-001 and/or NASASTD-8739 is required.
  • ESD Electrostatic Discharge preferred.
  • Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing

Responsibilities

  • Interpret manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, for in-process or final assemblies.
  • Inspect electrical and mechanical hardware to determine if products meet acceptance or rejection criteria as identified in applicable work procedures.
  • Verify geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings.
  • Visually inspect hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens.
  • Utilize measurement devices/tools such as calipers, height gauges, scales and dimensional measurement systems.
  • Document non-conformances and photograph discrepancies.
  • Verify and record configuration and present to Document Control and/or the Customer/ Operations leadership.
  • Clear and effective communication is necessary for interfacing with customer quality representatives, production team members, or suppliers.
