F5, Inc. seeks Hardware Engineer III in San Jose, CA: Job Duties: Plan, design, develop, and test electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems, and/or board level CPU systems. Define test plans for complex electronic products. Test, debug, and verify complex electronic products. Building design consensus and gating significant implementation on formal design reviews. Re-evaluate and tune the design & implementation of current products. Conduct internal & external presentations. Communicate with technical & non-technical colleagues. Work closely with the hardware team to author functional specifications. Develop hardware from functional specifications. Ensures all features and functionality are incorporated into the design. Work on functional specifications for Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD) and implement design changes using Verilog HDL. Supports offsite regulatory/safety/compliance testing. Part-time telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from F5 office in San Jose, CA.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics, Engineering (any field), or related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.
  • Hardware design
  • Schematic CAD and PCB layout tools (Mentor Graphic or Cadence Allegro)
  • Digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, USB, and UART)
  • High-speed interfaces (Ethernet and PCIe)
  • Experience with Oscilloscopes, DMM and Spectrum Analyzer
  • Networking equipment (switches, servers and power distribution units)
  • Verilog HDL programming
  • Any suitable combination of education and training is acceptable.
