We are seeking a hands-on, versatile Hardware Design Engineer to support the development of innovative electrical and mechanical systems. This role blends electrical hardware design, wiring design, and mechanical integration—ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex, cross-disciplinary problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician or similar.
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as KiCAD, ExpressPCB, or similar.
  • Proficient in soldering and technician-level tasks (e.g., wire crimping, mechanical assembly).
  • Familiarity with prototyping and testing hardware in lab environments.
  • Basic coding skills in Python and microcontroller platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hardware integration in automotive or robotics applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI).
  • Exposure to mechanical CAD tools and design for manufacturability.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Curious, resourceful, and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • Comfortable switching between electrical and mechanical tasks.
  • A team player who communicates well and enjoys building cool stuff.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware Design & Development: Design and develop electrical hardware systems, including PCB layout and schematic capture.
  • Create wiring diagrams and harness layouts for prototype and production systems.
  • Support mechanical design and integration efforts across various platforms.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Assemble and test hardware prototypes, including soldering surface-mount and through-hole components.
  • Conduct lab-based testing and validation of hardware systems.
  • Develop basic automation and testing scripts using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or Python.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to bring concepts to life.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
