Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, as Test and Service Engineer, Research Assistant, Hardware Engineer, or a related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test new automated control systems for beam generation and delivery.
  • Simulate design concept to test new beam control solutions.
  • Implement beam control improvements.
  • Solve design issues, executing root cause analysis to understand failure mechanisms.
  • Test, monitor, and characterize system performance through hands-on experiments with prototype systems.
  • Conduct experiments with radiotherapy machines to understand BGM performance.
  • Create and execute machine usage test cases that mimic boundary conditions for the beam servos.
  • Test iterative beam control improvements.
  • Utilize scientific computing methods to analyze control systems and develop optimization strategies.
  • Analyze beam generation and monitoring records using scientific scripting.
  • Store and organize large amounts of beam generation and monitoring data.
  • Evaluate performance of beam servo algorithms.
  • Utilize scientific computing tools to quantify servo performance metrics.
  • Stablish analysis tools to detect potential issues at customer site and communicate them to service personnel to perform preventive maintenance.
  • Document BGM servo stability, failure events, proposed solutions, and reliability testing results.
  • Recommend new testing methods to better quantify servo performance.
  • Investigate failure events recoded during reliability tests and propose solutions.
  • Perform verification and validation tests for the BGM subsystem.
  • Perform verification and validation testing to ensure product regulatory compliance.
  • Create and execute test cases to show BGM control systems are performing according to specifications.
  • Document test results.
  • Failure mode and effect analysis.
  • Investigate and document issues related to BGM subsystem performance.
  • Track and document design issues with BGM subsystems.
  • Investigate issues related to beam control algorithms and test cases.
  • Provide solutions to issues related to BGM performance at customer site and communicate them with service personnel.
