About The Position

A Handyman will support the “Manager” in a safe, efficient, and professional manner with preventative, corrective, and general maintenance for the Client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, maintaining a clean working environment, and other various duties as assigned by the Manager, while adhering to all HS&E standards. The Handyman is responsible for performing preventative maintenance in accordance with the CMMS schedule, assisting other maintenance personnel with repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general facility, and grounds infrastructure, and providing general laborer support. The Handyman is also responsible for following all processes to support client satisfaction. The Handyman is an entry level, general labor position. The General Maintenance Worker may not work independently and must work under the direction/oversight of local (Lead Building Engineer, Chief Engineer, or FM), Regional, or Country TS and Account Managers (dependent on space type, scope of work, and dispersion of ISS organizational managers). The General Maintenance Worker does not supervise other ISS TS personnel or third-party vendors. All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This includes following safety protocols, maintaining environmental responsibility, and upholding quality standards in all tasks. Employees are expected to actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • 0-1 years in Facility Maintenance or related field
  • General experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer
  • Ability to communicate well with customers, managers, and coworkers; clearly write and speak to clients, superiors, coworkers
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Competency with basic hand tools
  • Competency with basic power tools
  • Able to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner
  • Ability to work without supervision and appropriately with multiple deadlines
  • Maintain a good attendance record, including notification in the event of tardiness and absence
  • For internal candidates, must constantly receive a “meets expectations” job performance review
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Works and participates well as a team member

Responsibilities

  • Support the “Manager” in a safe, efficient, and professional manner with preventative, corrective, and general maintenance for the Client
  • Perform daily assessments of systems

  • Assist tradesmen with repair, adjustment, and maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and associated equipment as directed by the Manager
  • Perform and document maintenance and repairs in a timely and accurate manner
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Perform manual labor tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
  • Perform general building rounds and report conditions observed
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns
