Requirements

  • 3 years' experience working in residential rental buildings
  • Basic carpentry and electrical skills
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Standpipe sprinkler certificates
  • Problem solver with attention to detail
  • Friendly, positive team player
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to follow instructions

Nice To Haves

  • FACP certificate, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all mechanical rooms and report results into log check
  • Respond to tenants requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, repairing locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors
  • General plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, and minor leaks
  • Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and ovens
  • Repair and replace general hardware such as doors, doorknobs, locks, and broken tiles
  • Cosmetic updates to apartments, entrances, and common areas such as painting, plaster, sanding, and wallpaper installation
  • Maintenance and upkeep of cooling towers and boilers, as well as assisting in repairs of heating and HVAC systems
  • Report daily to the Resident Manager and update on repairs thru email correspondence
  • Assist in snow removal on sidewalks and driveways
