Gallery staff wear many hats, which changes with rotating exhibitions and varies with assigned shifts. Monitors oversee the daily operations of the gallery including but not limited to attendance, visitor assistance, surveillance and maintenance of artworks and facility, content creation for gallery social media sites, light cleaning, and answering of phone. Monitors also assist in the hosting of events, guest speakers, and class visits when scheduled; lifting and arrangement of chairs, communication with visitors, audio/visual set-up, and some light catering. Between exhibitions, gallery monitors are able to gain experience with installations and de-installations: art/object handling, working with artists, light construction, tool use, lighting, signage, and wall spackling/painting. If experience and timing coincide, monitors may request to work on research for exhibitions or to work with the college's permanent collection. Seeking responsible, friendly, dedicated, and detail-oriented individuals with good organizational and communication skills.
