About The Position

This position is for eligible, current students enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Title:        Student Office Worker in Student Life Services 10-15 hours per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays with some flexibility) Function:    Reporting to and under the direct supervision of the Dean of Students, supports the work of Student Life Services. The Student Life Services Office provides many functions for the seminary campus. In addition to the annual special events, which this office coordinates (Welcome Week, Chowderfest, Graduation, etc.), it also oversees the operations related to Housing and Residence Life, Student Association, Student Health Insurance, events, and other student concerns.

  • Must possess savvy social media skills to provide WhatsApp support.

Responsibilities

  • Greets people to the Student Life Services office, determines need, and directs to appropriate person/office(s).
  • Provides administrative assistance to Student Life Services staff by maintaining information databases, updating lists, and organizing records.
  • Assists with special projects/events (specifically new student orientation preparation, Service Day, Graduation, Christmas-on-the-Hill, Community meals, Dinner for all Nations, and summer projects).
  • Assist with managing student communication and marketing for events: including digital signage and flyers, as well as Whatsapp.
  • General administrative tasks as required, i.e., filing, copying, collating, shredding, distributing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed by the Dean of Students, Coordinator of Student Life, and Administrative Assistant.
  • Assists with minor housing tasks (residency letters, scanning, posting signage, etc.)
  • Performs other housing support as assigned or directed by the Housing Manager.
  • Ability to clean and keep supplies filled in the small Staff/Student kitchen across from the Mailroom. Help maintain “third spaces” on campus (game room, student lounges, etc.).
