Delegating and performing work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials, as well as providing inspectors, Machine Operators and Laborers with the resources necessary to successfully perform their duties. Daily activities include operating a hand truck, forklift, or other heavy equipment as needed. Must work with the Plant Manager and Production Manager to accomplish production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain workflow to accomplish production schedule
  • Monitor procedures and improve efficiency in production where needed
  • Assist Production Manager as needed and performs all tasks assigned
  • Ensure compliance with all Company standards of operations
  • Operates All machines proficiently (Forklift, Prentice, Runaround, Wood Boiler Support, Prentice Support, Endplate Station Support, Trimmer Support). To operate "proficiently," individual must operate consistently at or above target production levels
  • Monitor daily maintenance and reporting requirements for all machines
  • Sign off on all shipments
  • Process cut-backs as necessary to confirm grade adjustments
  • Monitor rail car load out sheets for correct information.
  • Responsible for inventory control n black tie area
  • Communicate in an efficient manner, both verbal and written, to ensure crew members, other processing departments, and the Production Manager are informed of operational problems and requirements
  • Instruct employees on safe operation of equipment
  • Conducts daily safety inspections and reports discrepancies
  • Able to identify plant safety hazards, and assist in conducting accident investigations
  • Participates and contributes to company safety programs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
